Processing purpose
The product indexes planning applications, decisions, local authority references, source URLs, decision dates, public document categories, and planning reasons on record so users can research planning precedent.The product does not market to applicants. For public planning-record indexing, the primary GDPR basis is legitimate interests: making already published planning records searchable with source links, while reducing unnecessary personal-data exposure.For accounts, paid reports, and subscriptions, processing is necessary for contract. For receipts, tax, abuse prevention, and security logs, processing may be necessary for legal obligations or legitimate interests.Risks and mitigations
Risks include resurfacing personal data from public files, stale council links, overbroad search snippets, and users mistaking precedent analysis for advice.Mitigations include linking back to source portals, not serving archived documents publicly, limiting displayed snippets, providing a de-listing contact route, using account verification, and publishing a clear disclaimer.Review
Privacy and de-listing requests go to privacy@planintel.ie. The DPIA should be reviewed before the first paid subscription and whenever the product adds new sources, personal-data fields, or outbound outreach.
