This site is located approximately 4km north of Kilmurry McMahon, 4.5km southeast of Kilmihil and 15km east of Kilrush in the townlands of Crossmore and Derrnageeha, Co Clare. The development will consist of: 1. An increase in the blade length of the previously-consented 7 no. wind turbine Crossmore Wind Farm, consented under planning application Ref: P09/123, from 45 metres to up to 57.5 metres; 2. Associated reduction in turbine hub height of up to 12.5m to maintain the previously approved overall turbine tip height of up to 125m (the previously approved hub height was 80m) 3. Creation of a splayed junction at the wind farm entrance on the Ballyduneen Road, off the N68, necessary to facilitate the proposed turbine / blade configuration; 4. All associated services and ancillary works. The application is seeking a ten year planning permission and 30 year operational life from the date of commissioning of the renewable energy development.
