Planning permission also sought for alterations to the facades of the existing motor sales building; retention of the existing 0.548m high steel boundary treatment located on the northern, southern and western boundaries and the proposed provision and continuation of this barrier along the eastern boundary; retention of existing 2 no. sliding gates to the northern boundary of the site (0.548m high by 9.43m wide and 0.548m high by 6.66m wide, respectively); a new 3.2m high (4.9m wide by 29.92m in length) polyester-fabric finished white canopy over proposed commercial car display area; amendments to the existing external surface car parking arrangement (comprising customer parking, staff parking, used car display, new and demonstration car display and workshop parking, including the removal of an unused raised display area) resulting in an increase of 4 no. display car parking spaces from 160 no. existing; 2 no. internally illuminated double sided free standing pylon signs, 3 no. directional signs, two of which are double sided) and associated elevational signage to the existing motor sales building (the lettering of the proposed 'Frank Keane' signs and the proposed corporate 'VW' signs are internally illuminated); associated lighting; and all other associated site excavation and site development works above and below ground; apart from the demolition, additions and amendments referenced above, the internal reconfiguration of the building will be carried out as exempted development.
