For development sought under WCC Ref.19/296 for export of Renewable Natural Gas to the national Grid, via the existing Gas Network Ireland Above ground installation (AGI) at the front of the site. This involves upgrading the raw biogas produced in the anaerobic digestors to an appropriate standard for acceptance to the national gas grid. Permission was also sought to extend the bunded concreate apron to the rear(east)of the Anaerobic Digestion facility and to provide and additional digestate storage tank.

Development at existing Composting and Anaerobic Digestion Facility. The development will consist of the construction of a feedstock bunker building, a compost maturation building and associated canopy, a digestive storage tank, a wood chip air filter, widening of internal access road to Anaerobic Digestion Facility, extension of paved concrete area to the north, south and east of the facility, the provision of an additional attenuation pond and the relocation and amendment of the digestive storage tank permitted under Waterford City and County Council Reg. Ref. 19/296 to now provide a digester tank. This development will facilitate an increase in the intake of materials at the facility from 40,000 tonnes to 80,000 tonnes per annum. The proposed development includes all ancillary site development and boundary treatment works above and below ground. This application relates to development for the purposes of an activity requiring a licence under the Industrial Emissions Directive. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.

Development at its existing Composting and Anaerobic Digestion Facility consisting of installation of a biogas scrubbing and compression unit, biogas grid entry unit and compressor unit and associated pipes to facilitate the export of biogas produced on site to the national grid. Permission is also sought for the extension of the bunded concrete area to the rear of the Anaerobic Digestion Plant to accommodate an additional digestate storage tank (c. 12.65m in height and c.25m in diameter) and relocation of the existing gas flare on site. The application relates to development which comprises or is for the purpose of an activity requiring an Industrial Pollution Prevention and Control Licence (now replaced by an Industrial Emissions Licence). A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) is included

Development consisting of the retention of the following elements: 1.8m high boundary fence and gates around and subdividing the site; provision of additional floor to building (to provide staff facilities) and increase in permitted footprint of building to comprise a 2 storey building of c.246sqm; enlargement of permitted anaerobic digester tank No. 3 to now comprise a tank which is 11.5m high and 26m in diameter; provision of 1 no. wood chip air filter; repositioning of permitted biofilter No. 2 on site adjoining existing biofilter. Permitted development referred to above was granted under Ref. 11/455; An Bord Pleanala Ref. PL24.24050543. Permission is sought for the provision of 2 No. airlock entrances to the front elevation of the existing compositing building.
