For a new switchroom for the enabling works to the future extension of hospital (planning ref: 16/704) at Portiuncula University Hospital, Dunlo Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, H53 T971. The proposed development is for a new single storey rendered switch room (area of switch room 140 sqm) both existing and proposed generators are to be enclosed behind fences and associated site development works for same. For development that will consist of an extension to the existing hospital to provide a new 50 bed ward block over two floors including ancillary accommodation and associated circulation routes linking back to the existing hospital. New service road and all associated site development works (gross floor space 4355sqm)

Of a new CT suite and associated rooms and includes the completion of a new build floorspace within the footprint of an existing ground floor undercroft to the west side of the hospital. The project incorporates an associated roof top plant room required to service the new CT suite, the plant room is located at second floor level above the first floor ICU. The works include drainage works to connect to the existing building and all ancillary site works. Gross floor space of work to be retained: 636.00 sqm

For the development consisting of a new modular building for the Outpatients Department including waiting area and link corridor (507 sq metres), an adjacent standalone modular office building (11 sq metres). The gross internal floor area of the buildings is 518 sq metres. A new 54 sqm external covered roof canopy between the main hospital building & the Outpatients Department. Works included drainage works to connect to the existing site services & all ancillary site works

For a new Emergency Department extension covering 310 sq metres of single storey extension with rooftop plant room and internal refurbishment of the existing department. At the existing lower ground floor level, a new public entrance lobby with security room will be formed adjacent a reconfigured ambulance drop-off and set-down area. The extension will provide 9 new patient cubicles, including gynaecology treatment room and associated staff and clinical support facilities. The extension will link into the existing building by way of a new accessible reception, leading to a newly formed dedicated paediatric waiting area and WC. The existing emergency department will undergo a series of phased internal refurbishment works to provide modernised staff changing facilities, additional patient treatment cubicles and reconfigured storage and staff support facilities. The works will include a reconfiguration of the existing internal campus 2-way traffic flow to become a 1-way traffic flow in the vicinity of the Emergency Department extension, formation of a new accessible set-down area, reconfigured ambulance drop-off areas and works to form a new pedestrian crossing and improve accessibility and safety around the immediate site. Drainage, water, and electrical utility connections will be made within the campus to the existing site infrastructure, and all other ancillary site works as required to facilitate the project
