Development on a a c. 1.8 ha site, on ESB lands. The development will consist of a c.19 MW capacity battery storage facility located within a secured compound, and will - subject to detailed design, commercial and technical considerations, include: (a) a control building (c. 112 sq. m., c. 4.7 m high); (b) plant and equipment comprising: (1) up to 12 no. battery container units (c. 30 sq. m. and up to c. 4.7 m high) with roof mounted HVACs; (2) up to 6 no. battery unit transformers on concrete plinths (c. 11 sq. m. and c. 4 m high); (3) up to 6 no. inverter units (c. 30 sq. m. and c. 3 m high); (4) a bunded house transformer (c. 20 sq. m. and c. 3.3 m high) with firewall on three sides; (5) an MV stepdown transformer (c. 60 sq. m. and c. 4.5 m high) with firewall on three sides; (6) VAR supports system on a concrete plinth (c.24 sq. m. and c. 3.4 m high); (7) cable trays and associated service connections; (8) up to 4 no. lightning masts (c. 20 m high); (9) a c. 18 m high SCADA pole; (10) a pole mounted security camera (c. 8.3 m high); (c) c. 2.6 m high palisade fencing and gates; (d) demolition of an existing building (c. 147 sq. m. and c.5.5 m high) and (e) ancillary site clearance and development works including provision of areas of hardstanding, internal access roads, and connections to site services networks. The planning permission is being sought for a 10 year duration. A Natura Impact Statement will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application. Licensed by the Environment Protection Agency under an Industrial Emissions (IE) License [Ref. P0561-05] and a Lower Tier COMAH site and therefore falls under the requirements of the Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) Regulations, 2015.

Permission for the replacement of approximately 324m of existing 2.4m high chainlink fencing and associated gates with 324m of new 2.4m high green palisade security fencing/gates and all associated site works.

Alterations and improvements to the existing 220kV substation consisting of a single storey control building (approx 204 sqm and approx. 5.2 in height) located at the (rear) Southern corner of the existing substation; 11no. control and protection kiosks located adjacent to existing bays, each approx. 16 sqm and approx. 3.4m in height; 2no. lightning monopoles up to approx. 18m in height; a new wing coupler bay; new sectionaliser bay; new internal access road (approx. 5m carriageway width and 120m in length) running from the existing access road within Aghada electricity generating station along the South Western boundary of the substation; new perimeter vehicular gates at the Southern corner of the substation; associated modification to existing perimeter fence at the Southern corner of the substation, plus existing perimeter chain link fence to be replaced with new 2.6m high palisade fence, associated drainage to include foul holding tank, surface water soakpit, new watermain connection; and all associated site works. The development will also consist of alterations and improvements to the existing110 kV substation consisting of 1no. control and protection kiosk approx. 16sqm. and approx. 3.4m in height; 1no. lightening monopole up to approx 10m in height; upgrade of existing strung busbar to tubular busbar, extension of existing palisade fence around proposed lightening monopole and all associated site works. The development of a c.19 MW capacity battery storage facility located within a secured compound, on a 0.65 Ha site, and will –subject to detailed design, commercial and technical considerations; include; (a) up to 6 No. battery storage units [each typically comprising a containerised battery (c.12.2m x 2.5m x 3.2m), HVAC (c2.7m x 2.7m), inverter (c.3m x 3m) and transformer (c.3.3m x 3.3m)]; (b) a 28sq.m single storey control equipment building; (c) a 28 sq.m single storey switchgear building; (d) ancillary electrical plant including a transformer and var support unit; (e) a c.15.6m high lightning mast and c.18m high SCADA communications mast; (f) a 2.6m high chainlink fence and access gate, with primary access via the existing station and temporary access via the existing boundary onto the R630; (g) ancillary site works including site clearance and the installation of site services. Licenced by the Environmental Protection Agency under an Industrial Emissions (IE) Licence [Ref. P0561-05] and a Lower Tier COMAH site and therefore falls under the requirements of the Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations (COMAH) Regulations, 2015.

Permission for development on a 1.81 ha site which is licenced by the Environmental Protection Agency under an Industrial Emissions (IE) Licence (Ref. P0561-05) and a Lower Tier COMAH site and therefore falls under the requirements of the control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations (COMAH) Regulations, 2015. The development will consist of a 75 MWe (electrical output) aero derivative gas fired turbine, including the following elements: (a) 1 No. turbine module (c.535 sq.m., c.15.2m high) in a fully enclosed weatherproof acoustic enclosure including a c.30m high stack, selective catalytic reduction (SCR), gas turbine and air intake; (b) supporting items of plant including: step up transformer with firewall (c.192 sq.m.); bunded station service transformer (c.11 sq.m); single storey control/electrical room (c.150 sq.m.); bunded ammonia storage tank (c.20 sq.m.); gas compressor (c.128sq.m.); gas compressor cooler (c.28 sq.m.); single storey building containing a fire suppression system and gas bottle storage (c.79 sq.m.); fin fan coolers (c.53 sq.m.); lube oil skid (c.32 sq.m.); fenced gas receiving station (c.11 sq.m.); (c) external service areas including a maintenance laydown area and an ammonia unloading area; (d) connections to existing site services networks including gas, liquid fuel, electrical, water and wastewater and an underground surface water attenuation tank connecting to surface water drains; (e) all other ancillary and miscellaneous site works including site clearance; site access and a temporary construction compound. [For information – the planning application represents a resubmission of a similar 55MW development approved by CCC under Reg. Ref. 19/05411].
