Erection of standing stone monument and associated works within the grounds of the Lusitania Museum and Old Head Signal Tower. The Signal Tower is a Protected Structure (RPS Ref. No. 772).

Permission for i) the demolition of existing temporary structures on the site and the removal of the existing on-site wastewater treatment plant, ii) the construction of a single storey L-shaped museum measuring (641m2) partially below ground level incorporating an exhibition space, café, staff facilities, visitor bathrooms, gift shop, lift, plant and storeroom, iii) alterations to the existing vehicular entrance, relocation of existing parking and the provision of new-car parking, iv) installation of a new wastewater treatment system and well with associated works, v) all associated landscaping and ancillary site development works. The Old Head Signal Tower is a Recorded Protected Structure (RPS Ref; no.00772) within the Cork County Development Plan

The development will consist of planning permission to (1) demolish existing extensions to existing dwelling house, (2) to construct new ground and first floor extensions to existing dwelling house, (3) to construct a new roof light, (4) to alter and modify existing doors and windows openings of existing dwelling house, (5) to construct a new detached domestic garage, (6) to construct a waste water treatment unit and percolation area, (7) new rainwater soak pits, (8) with ancillary works, and (9) all other associated site works

(1) The demolition of a farmhouse dwelling, agricultural buildings and walls; (2) the construction of 4 no. single storey “farmhouse” apartment units, each comprising 4 no. en suite bedrooms and an open plan living area for short term holiday accommodation with associated covered deck area and external fire pit; (3) the construction of 1 no. two-storey “barn” building comprising 2 no. holiday apartments each comprising 4 no. en suite bedrooms, for short term holiday accommodation and an open plan living area with associated covered deck area; (4) the provision of a central walled garden with feature wall and walkway to car park; (5) the construction of a single storey caretaker lodge to provide on-site reception/office area and overnight accommodation for the caretaker who will provide 24 hour services to guests including shared transfer to and from the Old Head Golf Links clubhouse and golf course; and (6) upgrade and widening of existing entrance to include demolition of existing southern entrance wall and construction of new southern entrance wall; and refurbishment of existing northern entrance wall with different stonework. A car park with 16 car parking spaces and 4 golf buggy parking spaces will be provided on site. The proposal will include all associated ancillary site development works including landscaping and boundary treatments, drainage, access, lighting, signage, parking, bin store, on-site well, construction of Pumphouse, underground water tanks and new wastewater treatment system and polishing filter.
