Planning precedent report

The development will consist of: (i) Replacement of existing, non-original shop front with new painted hardwood shop front, stone plinth and restoration of historic signage; (ii) Replacement of non-original PVC windows at upper floors (first, second and third) with traditional hardwood vertical sliding sash windows with thin double-glazed units; (iii) Tinting of non-original Flemish bond brick to the third-floor façade. (iv) Replacement of concrete paving to footpath with native granite stone.

PROTECTED STRUCTURE:PERMISSION: For development at Reilly's Bar, No. 17 Merrion Street Upper, Dublin 2, (a Protected Structure Ref. 5211). The proposed development will consist of the following: (i) replacement of existing non-original shop front with new painted hardwood shop front and associated fascia signage; (ii) replacement of projecting corner signage at first floor level with new signage; (iii) replacement of non-original top-hung PVC windows at upper floors (first, second and third) with traditional hardwood vertical sliding sash windows with thin doubler glazed units.

PROTECTED STRUCTURE: The Bagel Master Limited (T/A O'Briens Cafe), intend to apply for permission for development at ground floor of No. 19 Merrion Row, Dublin 2 (a Protected Structure). The development will consist of alterations to existing shopfront on Merrion Row elevation and Ely Place elevation consisting of new timber painted pilasters, new timber painted fascia and associated internally illuminated signage.

The development consists of the following: Removal of existing security shutter to shopfront opening; demolition of existing suspended timber ground floor and replacement with new suspended timber ground floor to allow for level access; Construction of new shopfront consisting of powder coated aluminium framed glazed shopfront with powder coated aluminium framed glazing automated sliding door; Erection of inner halo illuminated individual lettering An Post signage above shopfront; retention of 1 no. existing inner illuminated flag sign above shopfront.

PROTECTED STRUCTURE / RETENTION: permission for retention of 4 high dining tables, located on a private landing to the front of Bambino Pizza at No. 18 Merrion Street Upper, Dublin 2 - D02 X064. A Protected Structure.

PROTECTED STRUCTURE: The department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine intends to apply for development at the vehicular entrance to Agriculture House (Kildare Street, D02 WK12) on Lacey's Lane, just off Merrion Street Upper. The development will consist of the removal of an existing single storey security cabin. This existing cabin is to be replaced with a new single room, single storey security pavilion. The existing security cabin is in the curtilage of three protected structures; government buildings, outbuildings and No.14 Merrion Street Upper.
