Extension of Duration of Planning Ref. 13/137 - Extension to the existing ESB Baroda 110kV station, consisting of existing palisade fence to be extended to form enlarged compound with new gates, new MV switchgear building, 2 No. 110kV/MV transformers, 2 No. neutral earth resistors, 1 No. house transformer, internal roadway to be extended with new ramp, existing drainage to be extended with new attenuation tank and associated site works

The installation of circa 1,400sqm of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on ground mounted frames on a green area adjacent to Building 10 (Waste Management Building) and the existing 110kV Substation within the existing Pfizer site. The works will include the provision of new inverter panels within the existing Electrical Switch Room (Building 12) located within the existing 110kV substation compound, together with ducting, underground electrical cabling and all associated siteworks

For development on lands within Pfizer Newbridge, Greatconnell, Newbridge, County Kildare, W12 HX57 consisting of extension to the existing Baroda substation. The extension will consist of an enlarged compound of c. 198 m2, surrounded by a palisade fence with new gates. The extended compound will include the following: new c. 75m2 switchgear building (c.6m above ground /basement level), 2 No. 110kV/MV transformers and transformer bunds, 1 No. 15m high lightning monopole, 2 No. house transformers, surface water drainage with new attenuation tank and discharge to the public surface water sewer, internal roadway, cable ducting and installation, and all associated site works. (For information: This application represents for a modified version of the design approved in the extant planning permission KCC Reg. Ref. 17/1472 which expires in mid-2023)

(1) 15m² single storey Lobby Extension to western gable of Building B8. (2) New solid/glazed canopy above pedestrian pathway between Building 3C and B8. (3) Infilling of existing Roller shutter door opening on the south façade of Building 3C (4) Installation of 100m² of solar panels on the west façade of Building B8 and 99m² on the south façade of Building 3C. RETENTION PERMISSION sought for (1) Retention of retrofitted 186m² ground floor office and 33m² male & female toilets and associated pumped foul drainage connection to foul main. (2) Retention of two windows installed on the west façade and one on the south façade of Building B8. The proposed development does not impact previously permitted development of an activity for which a licence under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 is required

Development will consist of the retention of new and replacement signage and all associated and ancillary siteworks on the approach to and within the existing Pfizer Newbridge Campus as follows: Retention of the rebranding of the existing Pfizer roadside monument sign [E-15] on Buckley’s Cross roundabout on the R445 Newbridge to Naas public road incorporating a new company logo and text; Retention of a new roadside monument sign [E-10] at the main entrance to Pfizer Newbridge [which is a replacement of the former monument sign in front of the existing Security Hut]; Retention of the rebranding of existing sign [E-18] in the West Car Park to include new company logo and text; Retention of 13 No. new ground level information/directional signs [E-16, E-32, E-29, E-26, E-27, E-24, E-25, E-23, E-22, E-21, E-38, E-19 and E-20] within the Pfizer campus; Retention of 5 No. external signs erected at different heights on the existing buildings as follows – Retention of replacement sign [E-34] on Building 1 (facing Newbridge to Naas Road) with a new sign incorporating new company logo and text; Retention of installation of new sign [E-09] on Building 2A (facing main entrance to site) incorporating new company logo and text; Retention of installation of new sign [E-33] on Building 3 (facing Newbridge to Naas Road) incorporating new company logo and text; Retention of replacement sign [E-36] on Building 3C (facing Lidl Distribution Depot) with a new sign incorporating new company logo and text and the retention of installation of new sign [E-37] at the entrance to Building 8 incorporating new company logo and text)

The installation and construction of two forced draft cooling towers and all associated supporting structures, works and site works, to support the existing site’s central utility condenser water system and associated water chillers. The new cooling towers will be located adjacent to the existing cooling towers on open space to the rear of Central Utilities Building 5 and to the side of Building 9, all located to the rear of the main buildings. Each cooling tower has a cooling capacity of 3.5 megawatts and the over-all height of the new structures will be 8.6 metres above ground level to match the existing adjacent cooling towers and associated structures
