The refurbishment of existing former tourist shop and toilets building, located to the south of the Great Passage Tomb of Newgrange, improvement of access and demolition of some existing temporary, single storey 20th Century structures. The existing Guides' hut, a former signage structure, a hut formerly used for archaeological excavations and a maintenance shed will all be demolished, including associated ancillary items, replanted with grass and made good. The existing felt roof will be replaced with sedum green roof. The roof level will be increased by cira 750mm and fall arrest system will be provided to comply with health and safety requirements. Natural stone paving, stabilised gravel, a seat and stone bollards will be provided to exterior. New windows, doors and clerestory level glazing will be provided to improve the environmental performance of the building
