Permission to construct a 30m high telecoms structure, carrying communication dishes and antennae, within an existing 2.4 metre high fenced compound

The development will consist of: the installation of approximately 4km of underground electricty transmission cable across private lands and within the public roads numbered R165, L74021 and L7408. The cable will be installed predominantly in excavated trenches of approximately 1.2m in depth and will include associated underground ducting, joint bays, chamber bays, sheath link boxes and inspection chambers: ducting across the length of span of 1 no. bridge/culvert and directional drilling at 1 no. bridge/culvert; and all associated site development and reinstatement works. The proposed development is part of a larger overall development which will invole the installation of approximately 13km of underground electricity transmission cable from the permitted (wind farm) substation in the townland of Taghart South, County Cavan to the existing electricity substation in the townland of Meath Hill, County Meath and also extends into lands in the townlands of Taghart South, Corlea, Cornamagh, Collops, Corglass, Drumsallagh, Corawaddy, Carnagee, Cornakill, Dunaree, Lisanisky, Lisasturrin, Corgarry and Larchfield Glebe, County Cavan, and installed within the L7553, L3524, L3525, L3526, R165, L7612, L 3536, L7611, R164, R162 and L7561 within the adjoining planning authority jurisdiction of Cavan County Council. A concurrent planning application for that part of the overall development located within County Cavan has been submitted to Cavan County Council. This planning application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report/Environmental Impact Statement which includes an assessment of the likey impacts of the proposed development, as a whole and in combination with the relevant off-site or secondary developments which will occur as a direct result of the proposed development, including the wind farm development permitted pursuant to County Cavan Planning Register Refereance 16/74 & An Bord Pleanala Reference PL02.247401. Upgrading of an existing 110kV electrical substation to facilitate connection to a consented battery energy storage system (BESS) (Ref. KA/180156). Upgrade works to the substation include construction of a new electrical 110kV line bay comprising of 1) Cable Sealing End (CSE) and concrete plinth; Surge Arrestor (SA) and concrete plinth; Disconnect switch to Earth and concrete plinth; Voltage Transformer (VT) and concrete plinth; Current Transformer (CT) and concrete plinth; Circuit Breaker (CB) and concrete plinth; Disconnect switch and concrete plinth; All necessary electrical cabling to connect above listed equipment with existing busbar and control cabling; Works to include all necessary foundations and concrete ductwork 2) Construction of an electrical busbar sectionaliser to divide the existing 110kV busbar. New equipment to be installed would include: Current Transformer (CT) and concrete plinth; Circuit Breaker (CB) and concrete plinth; All necessary electrical cabling to connect above listed equipment with existing busbar and control cabling. 3) Replace the northern section of existing Steel wire fence with a 2.6m tall palisade fence including a gate. 4) Construction of an Interface (Marshalling) Kiosk and plinth located at the boundary between ESBN substation land folio and BESS (approved Planning Permission – Register No. KA/180156). Kiosk to be enclosed by 2.6m tall palisade fence including a gate. 5) Construction of approx. 11m (length) of 4m wide walkway comprising of crushed limestone on geotextile, to connect Meath Hill substation fenced enclosure with the Interface (Marshalling) Kiosk fenced enclosure. 6) Excavation and construction of approx. 23m of underground cable trench (approx. 1.2m deep) to accommodate 110kV cable ducting and associated control and earth cabling ducts. The cabling would run between the Cable Sealing End located in the proposed new line bay in Meath Hill Substation and the Cable Sealing End located into the consented BESS.

A 10 year permission for the construction of an energy storage facility within a total site area of up to 1.31 ha, to include one single storey electrical substation building and electrical compound, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, containerised battery storage modules on concerete support structures, access tracks, associated electrical ducting, cable racking and cabling, security fencing and CCTV security monitoring system, lightning protection poles, communications equipment and ancillary infrastructure

Permission for the construction of an electricity storage facility comprising a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), within a total site area of up to 6.9ha, to include one electrical compound, electrical transformer/invertor station modules, 56no. battery storage enclosures (BSEs), 28no. power conversion systems on concrete support structures, attenuation pond of 1220 cubic metres, indicative 110kV buried import/export cable and indicative 110kV substation to facilitate connection to the existing 110kV Meath Hill substation, upgraded access tracks, crane hardstanding, associated electrical ducting, palisade security fencing and CCTV system, landscaping works, lighting poles and all other ancillary and miscellaneous site works including site clearance

Construction of an electricity storage facility comprising a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with an installed capacity of up to 50MW, within a total site area of up to 6.9ha, to include one electrical compound, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, 64no. battery storage enclosures (BSEs), 8no. power conversion systems on concrete support structures, attenuation pond of 1212 cubic metres, indicative 110kV buried import/export cable and indicative 110kV substation to facilitate connection to the existing 110kV Meath Hill substation, upgraded access tracks, crane hardstanding, associated electrical ducting, palisade security fencing and CCTV system, landscaping works, lighting poles and all other ancillary and miscellaneous site works including site clearance
