The development will consist of the installation of a new facade and thermal envelope to all elevations of the upper two storeys of the original Terminal 1 building (i.e. 'Levels 40 & 50'), with enhanced and consolidated daa office space to be provided accross both levels, and associated development at roof level and Level 10 (i.e. Arrivals Level). The development will include: Removal of the existing vertical concrete fins from all elevations of the building; Extension of the existing floorspace at Levels 40 & 50 to include external balcony areas; Strip out and refurbishment of the existing office floorspace at Level 40; The conversion of existing car parking to office floorspace at Level 40; The creation of an enlarged roof skylight requiring a new opening through the existing roof slab, along with a new opening through the Level 50 floor slab to create a double-height internal light well; The creation of a consolidated plant enclosure at roof level; The relocation of existing roof level plant to the consolidated plant enclosure, and the removal of redundant plant as required; The relocation of existing telecommunications antennae at roof level; bicycle storage area for staff at level 10 (at the base of existing spiral); Reconfiguration of internal floorspace at Level 10 to create staff lobby area; and all ancillary development, demolition, site works and services.
DAA PLC intends to apply for Permission for development at this site (c. 0.19 Ha), at Dublin Airport, Terminal 1 Arrivals, Terminal Complex, Collinstown, Swords, Co. Dublin otherwise bounded by Terminal 1 Departure Canopy to the North-West, Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall to the South-West, Terminal 1 Multi-Storey Car Park to the North-East and Terminal 2 to the South-East. The proposed development consists of the following works: a)Taxi rank enclosure •Demolition and dismantling of existing roofed enclosure; new electrical routes and drainage layouts; new solid roof with glazed sides enclosure to accommodate 115 no. passengers, with illumination, information screens and drainage connections; new signage and repainting to existing personnel hut. b)Taxi rank set-down area •Provision of 8 no. standard pick-up spaces; provision of 1 no. people with reduced mobility (PRM) pick-up space; provision of 1 no. multi-use pick-up space; provision of dual lane system to accommodate the adjacent bus lane and provision of central island to allow left hand entry to all vehicles. c) Departure road canopy •Repair to structure; paint treatment to bridge structures and to the extent of the adjoining RC structure supporting the departure and arrivals bridge; fitting new cable routes; fitting new cladding to the departure bridge steelwork; new ribbon style digital information screen and support framing.
