Planning precedent report

1) The refurbishment of original convent building and the construction of an extension to same to include 12 two bedroom apartments with a doctors room, day room and laundry facilities. 2) The construction of a new three storey building to the rear of existing convent building consisting of 18 two bedroom apartments. 3) The demolition of outbuilding to rear of existing convent building. All in connection with the development of a retirement village.

For the following works, (A) change the use of the development granted under existing permission P19-333 as a retirement village and presently under construction, to use as residential, (B) change the internal layout, including minor elevational changes to the refurbished convent building as granted, and presently under construction, to provide 13 apartments made up of 1 x 1 bedroom apartment, 10 x 2 bed apartments and 2 x 3 bed apartments and (C) change the site boundaries and layout as granted, all with associated site works

For development at this subject site ( site area 4.9 hectares ). The development will consist of: (a) The Demolition of the existing single storey Scoil Mhuire Post Primary School Buildings ( 1694m2 ) and the existing two storey Scoil Mhainchín Primary School Buildings ( 878m2 ); (b) Construction of new 3-storey Post Primary School with connected Sports Hall ( 8678m2 ), 2-storey Primary School ( 1341m2 ), new internal road with set-down areas for buses and cars, ESB substation, switch room, ancillary store rooms, boiler house, car parking ( 96 Nr spaces ), ball courts, landscaping and associated site works; (c) New site entrance from Lahinch Road ( N67 ) and new boundary treatment; (d) New vehicular traffic lane and associated road works at the junction of proposed site entrance and Lahinch Road ( N67 ), Ennistymon, Co. Clare. The total development area is circa 10,224 m2

For the following development: for the construction of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) with associated site fencing, netting, artificial surface, 4 No. 10m floodlighting poles, associated fittings and all associated ancillary site works

The development will consist of the permanent change of use of the existing Family Resource Centre building, from community support facility to Creche and preschool, with RETENTION of the following: changes to fencing to external play area; additional fencing around main entrance; new fire escape door; replacement of door with window; and 3No storage sheds and a Polytunnel
