• The provision of a three storey extension to the Maternity Emergency Unit (MEU) (Gross Floor Area 1,042 sq. m) to include: • Main Entrance/Ambulance Lobby, Patient Waiting Area, Emergency Unit and Assessment Unit at the Ground Floor Level; o Induction of Labour Unit at the First Floor Level; o Plant and associated equipment at the Second Floor Level. o The refurbishment of existing medical areas on the Ground Floor Level and First Floor Level (Gross Floor Area 300.5 sq. m) within the existing Maternity Hospital building to form part of the Maternity Emergency Unit (MEU) extension; • The provision of 20 no. roof mounted Solar PV panels on the proposed MEU building; • Upgrade of the Main Entrance forecourt to reconfigure parking arrangements and provide improved pedestrian and ambulance access; • Provision of 54 no. replacement car parking spaces (including 2 no. accessible parking spaces); • Provision of a secure and covered bicycle parking area, providing 12 no. bicycle parking spaces. • All associated landscaping and site development works required to facilitate the proposed developmentDecision record indexedDecision13 January 2026View record
