    PERMISSION for development at a 0.33 hectare site within the southern carpark of Midleton Railway Station, in the townland of Townparks, County Cork, along McSweeney Terrace (L9402) (EirCode P25 RX85) for the construction of a bus terminal, as part of BusConnects Cork. The Proposed Development involves the redevelopment of the existing area within the station carpark extents to cater for a bus terminal with space for two bus stops and all associated infrastructure including storm water drainage. The development will be incorporated between the existing McSweeney Terrace (L9402) and Midleton Railway Station Carpark Road. In all the Proposed Development will consist of: • 2 no. bus stops with Transport for Ireland bus poles; • 2no. painted bus cage areas at bus stops; • A new entrance and exit from McSweeney Terrace to the Midleton Railway Station Car Park; • A footway connection to the east of station with uncontrolled crossing across McSweeney Terrace and Midleton Railway Station Carpark Road; • A raised zebra crossing to the west across the Midleton Railway Station Carpark Road with a footway connection to the existing zebra crossing across McSweeney Terrace; • A further uncontrolled crossing across Midleton Railway Station Carpark Road to connect to the second bus stop; • The removal of four existing parking bays to accommodate the footway connection to the west; • The removal of the majority of the existing wall across the entrance of Midleton Railway Station, as well as relocation of the vehicle access to the station east; • The removal of an existing area of overgrown vegetation behind the wall and the creation of a paved pedestrian area; • The relocation of an existing cycle shelter from the west of the station building to the new pedestrian area next to the existing zebra crossing across McSweeney Terrace; • A second access to the train platform west of the station building, with partial removal of the existing platform wall; • The retention of existing public lighting columns in the area and addition of 4no. new lighting columns; • Existing surface water gullies will be relocated to complement realigned kerb lines; • Directional signage and road markings; • A 12.9m grass area to the west of the station; • Narrowing of station carpark road to 5.3m width; • Surface dressing and regrading; and; • All associated and ancillary works.
