Showing 1-6 of 6 public recordsPROTECTED STRUCTURE: Permission for development at St. Andrews Former Tourism Centre (Protected Structure), Suffolk Street/St. Andrews Street, Dublin 2. The development will consist of: 1. Change of use of former Tourist Information Office, restaurant, and annex exhibition hall (now vacant) to food/dining hall and cultural use all to be operated under single management. 2. The alteration and selective removal of certain internal modern additions to restore the structure closer to its original appearance. These removals include: • Office partitions at the ground and first floor levels • The existing bridge across the nave on the first floor levels • Part of the first floor mezzanine within the apse • Part of the second floor in the South and North Transept 3. The provision of the proposed new (replacement) circulation bridge across the nave. 4. Modifications to ensure adequate ventilation and lighting on the exterior of the building. 5. Proposed landscaping, including an outdoor seating area and outdoor lighting. 6. 3 no. external heat pumps at the east side of the former church 7. Replacement of existing skylights at roof level to automatic opening vents and louvre Vents 8. Provision of cycle parking (30 no. spaces) 9. All other associated site works including drainage infrastructure and removal of car parking. The total floor area of the buildings is 1,763 sq. m on a site of 2,696 sq. m.
PERMISSION: The development will consist of: the provision of a contemporary residential extension (296.5 sq m) to the existing rear return (178.2 sq m at basement and ground floor levels) providing 3 No. one bedroom apartments and a plant room, increasing the height from single storey with an extended 2.9 metre high parapet wall above onto St. Andrew's Lane to 5 No. storeys; modifications to the northern elevations of Nos. 25 and 27 Exchequer Street comprising the removal of existing windows and provision of a link between the existing office floor area and the lobby of the proposed residential extension and associated works; removal of plant on the flat roof at first floor level screened by a pre- existing 2.9 metre wall/parapet; provision of a new staircore to the rear/west from first floor level to third floor level; the provision of residential balconies from first to third floor levels facing north and east; the provision of a sedum roof; and all associated works.
Permission for upgrading and refurbishment of the existing 4-storey over basement (5-storey) building and its change of use (including an extended basement) from retail/office to tourist hostel accommodation with licensed restaurant and bar and associated ancillary facilities. The proposal will involve the demolition of the 2-storey annex building to the rear and replacement with a new 8-storey over basement level (9-storeys) building with additional roof plant structure to accommodate a 30-bedroom tourist hostel with a basement consisting of a licenced restaurant and bar, kitchen and utilities and a ground floor consisting of reception and lobby area with bedroom accommodation on 1st to 7th floor; internal modifications and works to the existing 4-storey over basement (5-storey) building at 13 Trinity Street to accommodate the new tourist hostel development along with associated elevational changes to the Trinity Street and St. Andrew's Lane elevations. The proposal will include plant room at 8th floor level and plant at roof level along with signage, drainage, bicycle parking and all associated site development works.
The development will consist of (1) Internal alterations and refurbishment of ground floor entrance lobby situated on Exchequer Street; (2) Internal alterations and refurbishment of first, second and third floor office accommodation as well as an entrance and stairs at ground floor level; (3) Change of use of 131.65 sq. m of first floor accommodation from office to hair salon including an additional 9.1 sq.m resulting from the removal of a stair; (4) The removal of an existing staircase to the rear south east corner and the extension of the existing office floors at second and third floors by 9.1 sq. m per floor; (5) External repairs to brickwork including, cleaning replacing spalled brickwork, re-pointing of brickwork to front, rear and side elevations, repair chimneys as necessary with existing finishes reinstated, cleaning and repairs to existing sandstone courses to Exchequer St. and Drury St. installation of 4 no. fire-rated glazed panels to the external face of the existing window to rear staircase within the common corridor, replacement of existing window to the rear-staircase on the west at flat roof level with new roof-access-door, formation of new opening in existing rear staircase on the east at flat roof level to accept new roof-access-door, replacement of lead flashings and parapet gutters, dormer linings and recovering the existing main roof with reused and replacement natural slate with 4 no. rooflights installed to rear; (6) Refurbishment of existing window sashes and replacement of glazing with double-glazed units; (7) Replacement cast-iron rainwater goods to Exchequer Street elevation and pvc rainwater goods to rear (south) elevation (8) Removal of existing flagpoles and decommissioned alarm boxes; (9) Replacement of SVPs with new to rear (south) elevation; (10) Installation of 4 no. vent grilles in brickwork to the rear (south) facade and 3 no. ventilation grilles in brickwork to the east facade and installation of 2 no. ventilation grilles in the roof to the south (11) Removal of existing roller shutter and replacement with new hardwood painted door to the front entrance on Exchequer Street; (12) Replacement of existing building signage above entrance door with new signage in same location and new 'plaque' signage to right-hand side of entrance door; (13) Installation of mechanical plant and screening to the flat roof area at first floor level at rear; (14) All other associated structural, fire compartmentation works and service installations.
A Columbarium for the interment of ashes consists of 5 Columbaria of 15 double niche or equivalent single niche per side within a landscaped enclosure with fixed cross to east chancel at the southeast corner, of the curtilage of the property. The site is accessed from the church forecourt to the east and will include a free standing stone screen wall 1.8m high and from an existing inner courtyard to include a memorial threshold. Site clearance will include demolition of a stone built shed and the felling of 2 trees.
PROTECTED STRUCTURE: PERMISSION & RETENTION: The development encompasses 1. The retention of the current use as a hairdressing salon at ground floor level and day spa at basement level including all currently installed furnishings, fixtures, and fittings. 2. The retention of the internal glazed screen and doors between the ground floor level entrance hall and hair salon. 3. The retention of the existing internally illuminated exterior sign. 4. New works comprising the removal of 3 no. treatment rooms at basement level to create a staff room, the installation of 1 no. additional internal doorway at ground floor level to facilitate safe escape from basement level and the installation of removable planters on the public footpath immediately adjacent to the front facade.
