Showing 1-2 of 2 public recordsIs sought for the continued operation of the existing Booltiagh Wind Farm as permitted by An Bord Pleanala Ref: 03.120616 (Clare County Council Pl. Ref: 00/567) for a further period of 10 years from the date of the expiry of the current planning permission (30th September 2025) per Condition no. 2 of the consent issued and for the decommissioning of the wind farm at the end of that further period. The proposed development development does not comprise any modifications to the existing operational wind farm. The proposed development comprises: a) 12 no. existing GE Energy 1.5 Megawatt (MW) wind turbines with a maximum overall blade tip height of 90 metres (m) including hardstands; b) Existing site access tracks and car parking spaces; c) all existing associated underground electrical and communications cabling connecting the turbines to onsite substation (onsite substation consented under ABP 03.120616, amended and made permanent under Pl. Ref: 11/34, and amended under ABP 03.245273; d) Existing gated site entrance from Creegh - Kilmaley local road; e) Existing site drainage; f) All existing ancillary infrastructure, associated site fencing and signage; and g) Implementation of a decommissioning plan. All elements of the wind farm are pre-existing and it is not proposed to make any alterations to the current site layout, wind turbines or associated infrastructure as part of this application. an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) accompanies the planning application
For the development of a windfarm in the townlands of Cahermurphy, Knocknahila More South, Carrownagry South, Caheraghacullin and Drummin, together with the development of an underground grid connection cable to the National Grid in the townlands of Cahermurphy, Drummin, Doolough, Glenmore, and Booltiagh. The development will consist of 1. Construction of up to 10 no. wind turbines with a maximum overall blade tip height of up to 170 metres and associated hard strand areas. 2. 1 no. permanent meteorological mast with a maximum height of up to 100 metres. 3. 1 no. 38kV permanent electrical substation which will be constructed at one of two possible locations on site: either Option A in Carrownagry South townland or Option B in Cahermurphy townland. The electrical substation will have 1 no. control building with welfare facilities, all associated electrical plant and equipment, security fencing, all associated underground cabling, waste water holding tank and all ancillary works. 4. All associated under-ground electrical and communications cabling connecting the turbines to the proposed on-site substation. 5. All works associated with the connection of the proposed wind farm to the national electricity grid via an underground cable to the existing Booltiagh 110kV substation. 6. Upgrade of existing tracks, roads and provision of new site access roads and hardstand areas. 7. Junction access road works. 8. 2 no. borrow pits. 9. 1 no. temporary construction compound. 10. Site Drainage. 11. Forestry Felling to facilitate construction and operation of the proposed development; and 12. All associated and ancillary site development works. The application is seeking a ten year planning permission and 30 year operational life from the date of commissioning of the wind farm. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) have been prepared in respect of the proposed developemnt
