The construction of a reinforcement buttress to the extant embankment walls of the Tailings Storage Facility. The development works will consist of the construction of a rockfill and earthen reinforcement buttress to sections of the extant embankment walls of the Tailings Storage Facility. The proposed buttress, to be constructed on the downstream slope and at the crest of the Stage 1,2 and 3 starter embankments, will provide additional support and increase the overall stability of the extant upstream raises i.e. Stage 4 and Stage 5. The proposed development will not increase the footprint nor the overall height of the extant structure. The proposed development relates to an activity covered by the Company's Industrial Emissions Licence Ref No. P0516-04. An Environmental Report for the development will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the planning application. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) for the development has been prepared and will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the planning application.
