    RED III Permission for development which consists of: the construction and operation of a development consisting of an energy centre building, heat network pipeline, landscaping works, roof mounted solar PV and all other associated ancillary infrastructure at the Merlin Park Industrial Estate and Doughiska Road, within the townland of Doughiska, Galway, Co. Galway. The Galway City East Energy Centre building will integrate multiple low carbon energy technologies. The development will include the installation of 2no. Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) each with a 1.5MW capacity, 2 no. electric boilers, each with a 1.5MW capacity to handle peak loads and temperatures, and 2 no. gas boilers, each with a 1.5MW capacity for emergency back up support. The proposed energy centre building will have a building height of 6.2m, with solar PV panels mounted on the building rooftop. The adjacent building to the east (Smurfit Westrock), will have solar PV panels mounted on the building rooftop. The building to the north (Value Centre), will also have roof mounted solar panels. The proposed development will also include a heat pipeline network consisting of 2no. pipes, with a maximum diameter of 450mm each, spanning a distance of circa. 2390m in an underground trench, from the proposed energy centre building to Doughiska Road, along the length of Doughiska Road, crossing Monivea Road to the north, terminating outside the Clayton Hotel, and crossing Old Dublin Road to the south, terminating outside the Castlegar GAA Club, linking the proposed Galway City East Energy Centre building to future heat customer buildings in the area. Ancillary development will consist of security fencing, access and parking, drainage infrastructure, and landscaping works at the proposed energy centre building. Site preparation will involve foundation works, and construction of essential access facilities to support overall functionality for the purpose of generating renewable heat energy and transmitting it to future heat customer buildings within the townland of Doughiska, Galway Co.     Bóthar an Chóiste, in the townlands of Castlegar and Ballinfoil, Galway

    Permission for development which consists of: We, Lock House Developments Limited (the applicant), intend to apply to Galway City Council for permission for a Large-Scale Residential Development. The site extends to 4.626 ha on lands located to the north of Bóthar an Chóiste (also known as Bóthar na Cóiste), in the townlands of Castlegar and Ballinfoil (also known as Ballinfoile), Galway. The application is being made under the provisions of the Planning and Development (Amendment) (Large Scale Residential Development) Act 2021. The proposed development will consist of the following: 1) Demolition of an existing house (124.6 m²), a ruined outbuilding (42.8 m²), and a ruined dwelling (41.7 m²) 2) Construction of 168 no. residential units comprising: i. 70 no. two storey houses (36 no. two-beds, 26 no. three-beds, 8 no. four-beds), ii. 2 no. apartment blocks comprising 54 no. apartments (27 no. one-beds, 27 no. two-beds), iii. 44 no. duplex units (19 no. one-beds, 25 no. two-beds). 3) Development of a two-storey creche facility (c. 300 sqm), associated outdoor play areas and parking. 4) Provision of all associated surface water and foul drainage services and connections including pumping station with all associated site works and ancillary services. 5) The upgrade of the existing Bóthar an Chóiste road from the proposed development to the junction at L5041 consisting of road improvements, road widening and junction re-alignment. 6) Pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicular links throughout the development and access to Bóthar an Chóiste, and pedestrian and cyclist link to the adjacent Greenway route. 7) Provision of Bat Boxes, a Native Hedgerow Corridor (biodiversity and pollinator friendly) along the northern boundary, and the provision of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) features. 8) Provision of shared communal and private open space, site landscaping and public lighting, resident and visitor parking including electric vehicle charging points, bicycle parking spaces, and all associated site development works.     Existing Cashla-Salthill 110kV overhead line (OHL), in the townlands of, Ballybaan Beg Parkmore and Castlegar

    Permission for development which consists of; works to uprate the existing Cashla – Salthill 110kV overhead line (OHL). Within Galway City the proposed development is located in the following townlands: BALLY BAAN BEG, PARKMORE and CASTLEGAR. The proposed development will consist of works to a section of the Cashla – Salthill 110kV OHL between angle mast 52 (AM52) in Claregalway and end mast 105 (EM105) near Galway 110kV Substation, Galway City. Approximately 1.7km of the existing OHL circuit is located within the functional area of Galway City Council with approximately 7.7km in the functional area of Galway County Council. A separate planning application is being lodged with Galway County Council. The proposed development within Galway City will comprise: - the replacement (“restringing”) of the existing OHL circuit conductor wires with a new higher capacity conductor; - Retain towers at 6no. locations including foundation strengthening with bar member replacement at 3 locations; - Replace polesets at 1no. location; - the replacement of insulating and ancillary hardware at structures; - Replacement of line droppers at Galway 110kV substation; - all associated temporary site development works to gain access to the existing structures including vegetation clearance and management, disassembly and reassembly of gate posts / piers and removal and reinstatement of existing fencing; and - other temporary associated and ancillary site development works required for the purpose of the uprate of the existing circuit, including construction compounds, silt traps, silt fences, vegetation clearance and management, stone tracks, ground protection mats, infrastructure crossing support systems (i.e. guard poles) and temporary watercourse crossings. Where required, an aerial catenary stringing system (ACSS) will be used to facilitate stringing operations over major obstacles, e.g. busy national roads, wide rivers, etc.Decision record indexed

    Permission for development which will consist of 1. a mixed-use scheme with an overall gross floor area (GFA) of approximately 97,936 sqm. on a site of circa 6.81 hectares. The development is arranged across 13 no. development blocks (A-M) ranging in height from 2 to 8 storeys with associated ground level and basement level car parking. 2. Demolition of an existing security kiosk, and demolition and relocation of an existing substation. 3. Construction of 4 no. blocks of commercial offices ranging in height from 4 to 5 storeys over ground floor level (GFA c. 25,527 sqm). 4.
