19603: To consist of (A) Erect a new swing type pedestrian gate to improve access to the river bank adjacent to the existing pedestrian bridge crossing the River Shannon. (B) Erect a galvanised steel footbridge incorporating handrails and access ramps to replace the existing footbridge at the Conway's Canal crossing approx 50m upstream of where the canal flows into the River Shannon. (C) Improve the existing vehicle crossing of Conway's Canal by removing in stream masonry rubble and erecting precast concrete slats to span the crossing. (D) Erect a new 'swing type' pedestrian gate to replace existing damaged rear entrance to Summerhill House. Temporary works will include the erection of slit fencing and mats in the vicinity of the works to protect the integrity of the Lower Shannon SAC. The Planning Application will include an Appropriate Assessment Screening Report & Natura Impact Statement.
