The development will consist of the re-instatement of a natural slate pitched roof, glazed screens to external openings on internal face and stone floor to the single storey 19th Century Lodge under scholarly restoration and the insertion of a zinc flat roof and stone floor within the late Medieval Tower House by retaining the original ruined character using a policy of minimum intervention. A Natura Impact Statement has been prepared with the application. Gross floor space of work to be retained: 75 sqm

The works include the stabilisation and preservation of the structures including removal of vegetation. Some of these works are the subject of Enforcement notice EN15/054. An Appropriate Assessment Screening Report (AASR) has been prepared and accompanies this application

For three houses for use as individual self catering units for tourism related accommodation associated with Ballynahinch Castle Hotel and Estate, access road, wastewater treatment system with all associated works and ancillary services. For the construction of a 170 kW photovoltaic ground mounted solar array consisting of 432 Q-Cell 400 watt panels mounted on lightweight galvanised frames on lands north of the existing staff office. The works include the erection of a timber post and rail fence and a 140 meter long underground trench to connect the solar array to the existing above ground plant room.
