For development at Newmarket-on-Fergus Wastewater Treatment Plant in the townland of Boheraroan, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare and an associated rising main traversing the townlands of Ballyconneely, Ballynacragga, Boheraroan, Dromoland, Latoon North, Latoon South, Manusmore, Newmarket and Rathfolan, County Clare. The development will compromise proposed works within the existing Newmarket-on-Fergus Wastewater Treatment Plant, including: a. 1 No. 7.8m high storm storage tank with minimum storage capacity of 516m3, measuring approximately 11m diameter. Between 3.6m - 5.0m will be above ground level, the remainder will be buried below ground level b. New below-ground discharge pumping station with associated below-ground valve chambers and wet well c. New 4.1m high tertiary treatment system (including 2 No. tertiary filter units and flocculation tank with a volume of 8m3) d. 2 No. 2.7m high chemical storage tanks (each with a volume of 7.5m3) e. Electrical control kiosk (6.4m L x 5.2m W x 2.5m H) f. Standby generator g. Diversion of the flows from the existing final effluent pump chamber via 110m of 300mm external diameter sewer to the new discharge pumping station. The proposed development will also include: h. Construction of approximately 4.4km of 400mm diameter outfall rising main from the proposed pumping station to the proposed outfall diffuser within the River Rine i. An outfall diffuser with three diffuser heads of 225mm diameter located within the River Rine foreshore j. All ancillary works site development works including site preparation works, hardstanding, site clearance, ground levelling and site drainage as required to facilitate the development. This application is accompanied by a Natura Impact Statement (NIS).
For development at Dromoland Castle and Estate, (Dromoland Castle is a Protected Structure: RPS No. 278). The development will consist of: the demolition of the 20th century / non-original infill structures at the castle courtyard and the construction of a glazed roof structure (max height c.11m) to provide additional internal guest recreation / dining space for guests (c.300sqm additional floor area); Demolition of existing part one/part two element and the construction of a part three/part four storey extension to the existing 21st century castle's east wing to provide additional guest accommodation, resulting in the loss of 1 No. existing guest room and an additional 17 No. guest rooms, resulting in a net gain of 16 No. rooms within this part of the castle. Removal of existing deck and canopy and the extension of the existing clubhouse building through the reinstatement of the former orangery building to provide a guest restaurant / event space; Alteration and change of use of existing farm structures from agricultural to a golf maintenance facility and central delivery and procurement hub for the estate, including staff car parking to provide 11 No. spaces, including accessible spaces and EV charging spaces; and the provision of new / formalised car park to serve the Castle guests and Brian Boru Hall (event facilities) to provide 85 No. spaces, including accessible spaces and EV charging spaces. The proposed development will also comprise all ancillary landscaping and boundary treatment works, site services, wayfinding, site lighting, and all other associated site excavation, construction compound, infrastructural and site development works.
