No 15/16 John Street Lower is located within the John Street Architectural Conservation Area. No 15 John Street Lower is a protected structure RPS Ref: B99 and listed on the NIAH Main Record (12000219). No 16 John Street Lower is a protected structure RPS Ref: B100. The proposed development area falls within the area of archaeological protection for RMP KK 019-026 Historic town and also adjoins the Kilkenny City Wall National Monument RMP KK019-026 and the former precinct of St John's Priory National Monument KK019-026068 and National Monument ref 344 and 331
