SDZ06A/2: Construction of 2 no. primary schools, totaling 5,082sq.m. Both schools are two storey structures containing 16 no. classrooms, 2 no. special needs teaching rooms, and ancillary rooms. Each primary school has an outdoor junior play area (c.420sq.m.) and 2 no. outdoor ball courts (c.546sq.m. each). A total of 48 no. dedicated staff car parking spaces are provided to serve the 2 no. primary schools. These spaces are located in a secure barrier controlled car park located between the two school buildings. A further 68 no. car parking spaces are provided as drop off and visitor parking on the western, southern, and eastern roads surrounding the primary schools. A bus loading zone is provided outside the main entrance to each school on the southern elevation (2 no. loading zones in total). Primary School #1 has a gross floor area of c.2,544sq.m. including 16 no. classrooms of c.80sq.m. each, including W.C. and store in each classroom; 2 no. special needs teaching rooms of 80sq.m. each including W.C. and store in each room; a general purpose room of c.195sq.m.; a library and resource area of 66sq.m.; 4 no. Special Education Tuition rooms of c.16sq.m. each (64sq.m. in total); a multi-purpose room of 20sq.m.; an administration room / general office of c.16sq.m.; a staff room of c. 35sq.m.; and a principal's office of c.16sq.m. General storage rooms, equipment stores, toilets, circulation areas, service cupboards and a boiler house are also to be provided. Primary School #2 has a gross floor area of c.2,538sq.m. including 16 no. classrooms of c80sq.m. each, including W.C. and store in each classroom; 2 no. special needs teaching rooms of 80sq.m. each including W.C. and store in each room; a general purpose room of c.195sq.m.; a library and resource area of 66sq.m.; 4 no. Special Education Tuition rooms of c.16sq.m. each (64sq.m. in total); a multi-purpose room of c.20sq.m.; an administration room / general office of c.16sq.m.; a staff room of c.35sq.m.; and a principal's office of c.16sq.m. General storage rooms, equipment stores, toilets, circulation areas, service cupboards and a boiler house are also to be provided. Vehicular access to serve the development is via (A) Part of the Adamstown Station Access Road, which will connect the site to the Adamstown Link Road (Reg. Ref. SD04A/0964), and (B) via a new road (Road A22) connecting the development to Adamstown Avenue (Reg. Ref. SDZ04A/1). Site development and landscape works include the provision of a landscaped linear walkway from the vicinity of the permitted bus stops (Reg. Ref. SDZ06A/1) on Adamstown Avenue southwards to the two new primary schools. It is also proposed to construct c.550m of twin foul drainage rising mains (500mm and 350mm diameter). These are to be located within the Adamstown Station Access Road and Road A22. The proposed rising mains will be a continuation of those permitted under planning reg. ref. SD04A/0964). This application is being made in accordance with the provisions of Adamstown Planning Scheme 2003. The lands fall entirely within the boundaries of Adamstown Strategic Development Zone as defined by Statutory Instrument No. 272 of 2001. All on c.3.22 hectares at lands bounded generally to the north by Adamstown Avenue, to the west by future development within the Adamstown, to the south by the Dublin-Kildare railway line and to the east by the road network permitted under Reg. Ref. SD04A/0964 (PL06S.211506, all within Adamstown Lucan, Co. Dublin.
