To install 30 KW of roof mounted solar panels on existing roof of canopy attached to the shop front (area of solar panels 127.3 sq.m roof area 173 sq.m) and all associated site works

The development will consist of the extension of the operational lifespan of a solar farm permitted by Carlow County Council under Planning Reg. 22/118 from 35 No. years as permitted (by reason of condition No. 3 of permission Planning Reg. 22/118) to 40 No. years.

The proposed works will include a solar farm on an area of approximately 14.16 hectares, comprising photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames, 4 no. single storey inverter/transformer stations, 1 no. single storey terminal stations, 1 no. single storey electrical switch room, 1 no. storage container, security fencing, CCTV and all associated ancillary development works. Elgin Energy Services Ltd. are applying for the proposed solar farm to have planning permission that is effective for 10 years (and an operation period of 40 years)

A new process outflow treatment facility, including treatment tanks and filter units together with associated cleaning equipment, support/maintenance structure and hardstanding. All at Royal Oak Distillery, Clorusk, Royal Oak, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow, an establishment with lower tier CoMAH status to which the Major Accident Directives apply. The restoration of a former gravel pit using imported clean, uncontaminated soil and stones (by-product only) within an area of 1.92 hectares for the consequential return to agricultural use. Permission is also sought for all associated site infrastructure and civil works required for the development within an overall site area of 2.42 hectares. A 5 year planning permission is sought during which period approximately 71,940 cubic meters of byproduct soil and stones will be imported for the restoration works

The development will consist of the relocation and revised design of a single storey medium voltage electrical substation (previously permitted as part of a solar farm permission by Carlow County Council Planning Reg. 22/118) to provide a revised single storey 20kV substation building at a revised location within the overall permitted solar farm site.
